It is indeed a pleasure to welcome you to the 2012-2013 school year at Barrington academy. Today, the Barrington staff accepts into our outstretched arms the most precious commodity anyone can receive, our community’s children. We accept this awesome responsibility with humility, vigor, compassion and courage. We pledge to you our passion for the individual security, safety and success of each child. We offer our unfailing desire to serve our students and our community and to give them the necessary skills to become competent problem solvers and outstanding citizens! What parents value or believe defines what is important to their children. When you value education and believe it is important, so will your children. Private Pre K 2012-2013 Registration
Developing talents by encouraging curiosity and Strengthening confidence - we ensure Success by implanting a lifelong love of Learning in children. Program offers ballet or karate classes. Every classroom has a computer and a choice of Learning through Phonics or Learn Spanish on Computer. Engaging lessons and activities are provided in the following areas: Language and Literacy, Math and Manipulative, Science and Technology (Computers ), Social Studies, Creative Arts and Expression, Social & Emotional Development, Physical Development and Health. Private Pre K is different from the state funded Georgia Pre K program. Program offers educational field trips around the year to Fern Bank Science Museum and Imagine It Children's Museum and more for 4 year old students. Enroll now! - limited availability

 

Scholastic Book Club
We provide the opportunity to bring you the Scholastic Book Clubs every month and Scholastic Book Fairs from time to time. Each month your child receives an order form with different types of books and educational products. For every order we receive the center receives FREE books. So please help us enrich our classroom libraries and our children’s minds with wonderful and exciting books. See the monthly take home letter with your book order form.

 

Friday Folders
Don’t forget it is very important to check your child’s folder daily and specially on Fridays. The children work hard on their projects and papers. At times, important office memos may be in your child’s folder coming home to you on Fridays. Please make sure to sign the papers if required, and pay attention to all the upcoming events happenings at our school, enriching you child’s experience in learning.

 

Upcoming events

This summer, we’ve traveled by land, by air, and by sea. We’ve explored the people, places, and monuments that make up this great country called America. This month, we’ll sit back, relax, and enjoy some all-American fun! Students will try out their athletic abilities and tickle their funny bones .We will be keeping their energies focused on positive things as by providing opportunities for fun & sun, self-expression & recreation, and enjoyment this month!

Cookie Dough fundraiser …August 27th: We will begin the year with a great fundraiser that everyone from children to adults will enjoy –Assortment of cookie dough. These are easy to distribute and raise funds by families. This fundraiser is going to help Barrington management update Playground equipment for our children to bounce upon.

Scholastic Book Fair  …September 17th- 18th: Our second annual Book Fair is here. The theme will be spring and summer light reading for all age groups. We are ready to have some fun.

September 3th: Barrington Academy will be closed for Labor day

September 24th- 28th fall break: GA funded Pre K and Henry county schools will be closed. Barrington Academy will be open for children as needed by parents.

 

Themes:  for August
Fall: Fantastic Fall

Wacky Olympics: This is an opportunity for young children to get acquainted with the Olympic Games, but most importantly the central message during the activities is one of friendship and peace.  People playing and working together, in peace and friendship, makes for a better and beautiful world.Sports mania: This theme will help the students explore the life in a pond. Tadpoles and Frog are the main invertebrates to be found in a pond and we will learn about their life through our eyes.Books: Hour for Olympics, True Gold and Olympics Experiments: Olympic Ring Colors Chemistry Demonstration

Camping time: Students will learn about animals and pretend that there camping. They can use the tent to do puzzles, read books, or nap

  • Books: Camping with kids, sleeping in a sack
  • Experiment:  Sprouting Plants

Hollywood bound: Students will learn about animals and their babies. Puppies, kittens, calves, fawns, cubs, ducklings, piglets and chick will be the topic of discussion. So much to learn here!

  • Books: Alphabet city, through my eyes
  • Experiment:  Ice cubes and string

All American foods: Students will learn the difference in healthy eating and unhealthy food

  • Books: The care and keeping you , the feelings books
  • Experiment:  Wonder can

  • Experiments: Make a life size portrait

“My family” “Students will talk about their family and why they are a special part of the family
